The Baton Rouge Improv Festival is a five-day cultural event planned for May 12, 2021, one-line and from Baton Rouge, Louisiana that will bring together improv teams from the region and nation to build community among diverse populations in the spirit of celebrating a truly American art form: improvisation. Intended for the citizens of Baton Rouge and LSU's student body, the festival will place creative control into the hands of the performers and participants. Sponsored by LSU’s School of Theater, the festival aims to inclusively elevate, educate, innovate, and instill the community with improvisational theater through workshops and performances. BRIF’s programming aims to elevate traditionally underrepresented voices. The festival will invite and prioritize the participation of BIPOC, LBGT-Q, and all-female improv teams and performers, among others. Baton Rouge Improv festival is part of an organization that is nonprofit pending and created to elevate performing arts and create a safe, healthy, diverse performing community in Baton Rouge.
